PRIVACY NOTICE: Mareeba Shire Council is collecting your personal information in order to process your entry in the Mareeba Shire Council Disaster Footage Competition. Your personal information will be handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) and only accessed by authorised Council employees. Your personal information will not be used for any other purpose or disclosed to any other person or entity unless you have given us permission or we are required by law. Please refer to Council’s QPP Privacy Policy for further information on access or correction of personal information held by Council.

Terms and Conditions of Entry

By entering the disaster footage competition participants accept the terms below:

1. Warrant that I am the creator of, and currently own the intellectual property rights to the video, music, images (‘images and recordings’) provided to Mareeba Shire Council.

2. The entrant grants Mareeba Shire Council, it’s employees, officers and contractors a paid up, perpetual, royalty free, non-exclusive, sublicensable, irrevocable and worldwide licence to:

a. use, copy, reproduce, modify and adapt the submitted images and recordings for use in the Stories of Jasper 2 years on film and for the purpose of advertising the film including but not limited to newspaper advertisements, promotional videos, websites, brochures or other multimedia for public relations, promotions, commercial and advertising purposes.

b. retain or store the images and recordings in a hard copy or digital format including but not limited to, storage in MSCs multimedia library.

3. Agree that I will not receive any payment (unless otherwise agreed in writing), royalty or other consideration (whether monetary or otherwise) from MSC in connection with the making, use or storage of the images and recordings

4. I undertake to hold MSC and any third party partner harmless against any claims arising from the use, publication or reproduction of images and recordings; and

5. Warrant that I have obtained written consent from any recognisable person in the attached images and recordings to ensure MSC can exercise its rights in relation to the images and recordings under these terms and conditions.

6. I confirm that I am 18 years of age or older at the time of entry

7. MSC accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss or injury suffered by entrants as a result of participating

8. Winners of an emergency kit will be notified via the contact details provided by Friday 4^th September 2026. If a winner does not respond within 5 working days of being contacted they will forfeit the prize and a new winner may be selected. Decisions made by MSC regarding the competition are final and binding
