Mareeba Multicultural Festival Stallholder Information and Application Form

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Mareeba Multicultural Festival.

The Mareeba Multicultural Festival invites applications from commercial and not-for-profit food vendors which represent the cultural diversity of the Mareeba Shire.

The Mareeba Multicultural Festival also welcomes applications from community support services that provide support or services to diverse groups of people, or organisations with a particular focus on new or emerging cultural groups in the community.

Application forms must be received by no later than Friday, 19 July 2024.

Stallholder Fees

The following fees will apply to stallholders.

*Note: Failure to pay the ‘Site Fee’ and/or ‘Insurance Fee’ by the due date will result in the cancellation of the stallholder application.

Food Handling and Licences

Commercial food vendors must hold an appropriate Food Business or Temporary Food Licence and proof must be provided by each food vendor prior to the event. Mareeba Shire Council provides information kits for Temporary Food Licences. For more information on Temporary Food Licences, please contact Mareeba Shire Council to request an information kit. Public and Products Liability Insurance

All stallholders must provide evidence of adequate Public & Products Liability insurance by:

Providing a current ‘Certificate of Currency’ for Public and Products Liability Insurance of at least $20,000,000. It is Council’s preference to be listed as an interested or associated party, however this is not a requirement.
Requesting to be included in the Festival's Public and Products Liability insurance. A contribution of $120 per stall is required to assist with funding this insurance policy.
All stallholders are responsible for any personal accident to themselves, their employees, volunteers, contractors or agents whilst on site.

The $120 per stall will be invoiced by Wednesday, 24 July 2024 and is due by Monday, 12 August 2024.

Application Outcome

Applicants will be advised of the outcome of their application within 4 weeks, noting that the Committee will not enter into correspondence regarding a refused application.

Applications may be refused if:

The Committee determines that a more diverse mix of cultural food stalls is required. For example, if there are several stalls selling one type of cultural food, it may be necessary to refuse an application to allow for a stallholder from a different culture.
The application is to sell non-food items.
The Committee determines that the application is from a stallholder that will not contribute to the objectives of the Mareeba Multicultural Festival.

Terms and Conditions

Stallholder applications are approved in accordance with the following ‘Terms and Conditions’.

Acceptance to participate in the Mareeba Multicultural Festival is at the discretion of the Festival Committee, an Advisory Committee to Mareeba Shire Council.
Site allocation is at the discretion of the Festival Committee.
No alcohol is to be provided from stalls.
No raffles are to be conducted at this event.
Please mark your stall with a sign displaying the name of the nationality you are representing. Flags are not permitted.
Electrical and gas appliances and leads must be tagged, tested and approved before arrival at site and must be tagged within the previous 12 months. Appliances not tested and tagged cannot be used at the event.
The Mareeba Multicultural Festival Advisory Committee is not responsible for loss or damage to any property of a stallholder.

Please note that failure to comply with these terms and conditions may result in stall closure and exclusion from the Mareeba Multicultural Festival.

In the event of exclusion, any resulting costs will be entirely the responsibility of the stallholder.
