Mareeba Shire Council Great Australian Bites Stallholder Information and Application

STALLHOLDER INFORMATION PACK

Thank you for your interest in participating in Mareeba Shire Council’s Great Australian Bites Festival.

Mareeba Shire Council will be hosting a Great Australian Bites event in celebration of Australia Day on Thursday, 25 January 2024 at the Mareeba International Club.

Great Australian Bites is an event that celebrates, showcases and promotes Queensland produce, local culinary and musical talent in honour of Australia Day.

Australia Day is about the ever-evolving story of our nation – our history, our lives, and most of all, our people. In the Mareeba Shire, agriculture is our largest industry, and the Great Australian Bites event will be a celebration of the great produce of our region.

The event will commence at 4:30pm with food vans, a jumping castle, face painting and a badge maker. A Welcome to Country and flag raising ceremony will form part of the official event, with performances by local artist Aurelle Maree Brunjes and the Mareeba State High School Band.

Council will host an Australian Citizenship Ceremony and an Australia Day Awards Ceremony alongside the Great Australian Bites event. The ceremonies will commence at 6:30pm, inside the Mareeba International Club.
