Notice of Objection Against Rating Categorisation
This objection must be lodged within 30 days of the date of the issue of the rate notice.
By virtue of Section 90 of the Local Government Regulation 2012, the lodgement of an objection or the commencement of an appeal does not stop Mareeba Shire Council levying and recovering Rates on the specified land.
To prevent any outstanding debt from being deferred to a debt collection agency, it is suggested that all outstanding amounts are paid in full prior to lodging an objection. Any adjustments that are applicable will be processed after the objection has been investigated by Council.
This objection is based only on the grounds, that the owner(s) consider the land should belong to a different rating category.
I/We, the owner(s) of the land described above, hereby give notice that I/we object against the category in which the land has been included in the rate notice issued by Mareeba Shire Council for the purpose of levying differential general rates.
